Mailboxes live near the street. So Zip asks every member the same pinky promise: never check the mailbox without a grown-up, every single time. It is written into the letters themselves, and a safety reminder sheet ships in every child's first package so the whole family sees it together.

What goes in the envelope

• Paper first. Letters, cards, coloring pages, and keepsakes, made to be held, colored, and pinned to the fridge.
• Open mail together. Some envelopes include small pieces such as stickers. Keep them away from children under 3, and take extra care if there are younger siblings in the house.
• Still, inspect first. We ask every grown-up to look through the envelope before handing it over, especially in households with babies or toddlers, since even paper pieces and stickers belong away from little mouths.

Younger brothers and sisters

Pieces like real stamps, postcards, and character cards are sized for the child the envelope is addressed to. If you read the letter as a family, keep the smaller pieces out of reach of children under 3.

If anything ever concerns you

If a piece arrives damaged, or anything in an envelope worries you, email zip@zipsmailboxclub.com. We replace it and update our checks. A real person reads every message.
