Off the screen, onto the sidewalk

The letter that gets them asking to go outside

Zip's missions get kids outside and asking to go for walks! Turn every block into a mailbox hunt: spot it, count it, tally it, find the next one.

The magic starts before the envelope arrives

Ask anyone who grew up before screens: the best part of mail was never the mail. It was the checking, the flag, the run down the driveway — and then, finally, something with your name on it. Zip brings that feeling back, twice a month.

Why Zip exists

Zip began at my kitchen table with my own two kids.

I wanted them to experience the small magic of finding a real envelope addressed to them. Something they could open themselves, read again, and write back.

But I did not want to create a story that simply dropped a child’s name into a few blank spaces. I wanted it to feel like a real friendship. Someone on the other end who listened, remembered what they said, and could not wait to hear from them again.

So I created Zip, a little postage stamp who lives inside the mailbox and writes directly to kids.

With every letter, Zip remembers the details they share, asks about the things they love, and invites them deeper into the world of the Mailbox Crew. Each envelope continues a story that belongs to them.

To a child, Zip becomes a friend who writes back.

To a parent, Zip creates a screen-free ritual filled with reading, imagination, and the excitement of running to the mailbox to see what came next.

I pack every envelope by hand. Before I seal one, I ask myself:

Would I be excited to place this in my own kids’ hands?

If the answer is anything less than an immediate yes, I get back to work immediately.

That means listening carefully to our customers, paying close attention to what makes each kid light up, and making the experience better with every envelope we send.

Zip’s world may be make-believe. The feeling of being seen and remembered is very real.

Questions, answered

What is Zip's Mailbox Club?
Zip's Mailbox Club sends your child two pieces of real mail every month, both addressed to them. The story starts with their name and interests, runs through a year-long mystery, and can remember what they write back. It's made for kids ages 3 to 12.
What ages is it for?
Kids ages 3 to 12. Younger children enjoy the letters as read-aloud stories; confident readers get richer mysteries written for their age and reading level.
What does my child receive each month?
Near the start of the month, a personalized illustrated letter from Zip. Mid-month, a second envelope with a letter from the new Mailbox Crew friend they meet that month, a coloring page, a paper game, a Letter to a Friend they can mail, and the Stamp of the Month. Along the way they collect Crew cards and follow the year-long mystery.
When does the first letter arrive?
Zip usually puts the first personalized mailing in the mail within about a week of signup. Your welcome email keeps you posted while it's being prepared.
Does Zip really remember what my child writes?
Yes. Your child can write back with the reply included in every mailing. Something they tell Zip can show up in a later letter, so the story feels like it remembers them. Replying is always optional. See what happens when your child writes back.
Which plan should I choose?
Both plans include the same personalized mail. Choose $19.99 billed monthly, or $199.99 upfront for the full year, which gives you two months free. The full year is the complete Season 1 story: 12 big illustrated letters, 12 mid-month surprises, all 12 Crew cards, and a mystery shaped by what your child writes back.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes, though Zip will be a little sad. Sign in to your parent portal and choose Manage billing. Your child keeps getting letters through the end of the current billing period.
What if my child doesn't love the first letter?
Email us and we'll refund it. No forms, no phone call, no fine print - one email to zip@zipsmailboxclub.com and it's handled. It's a one-time welcome for each family. Read our honest promise.
What if I'm giving this as a gift?
A full gift year is $199.99 - for a grandchild, a family member, or a friend. It's a one-time purchase covering the full 12-month story - it does not auto-renew. After secure checkout, the child's parent or guardian provides the private details and mailing address. Gift a year →
How do you protect my child's information?
Parents manage every account. We collect only what Zip needs to create and mail the letters, never sell a child's information, and honor parent requests to access or delete it. Read the privacy policy.
Your child’s privacy comes first
  • We collect only what Zip needs to write. First name, age, interests, mailing address. That’s the list.
  • We never sell or share your child’s data. Not to advertisers, not to “partners.” Ever.
  • Parents control everything. Every account is created and managed by a parent or guardian.
  • Delete it anytime. Ask and your child’s profile is gone — one email is all it takes.
